Position available: Project / IT Manager

We are a small semiconductor company looking for people to help us grow.  We are currently looking for one person to help us in two critical areas, project management and maintaining and updating our IT system. The job will be located at our offices in Auburn CA.

IT Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform Systems Administration responsibilities to company’s IT systems – Linux servers and Microsoft PC network.  Duties include acquiring & installing new servers, laptops, desktops. Manage office network.

• Daily monitoring and maintenance of over 5 servers and twenty five workstations.
• Perform back up, file replications and script management for servers.
• Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including patch management services.
• Complete security audits on a routine basis.
• Administrative scripting with Perl, Python and Shell

Project Management Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies resources needed and works with management individual assignments.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the projects and scopes.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
• Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a milestone basis
• Ensures timely and accurate invoicing and receivables for project.
• Assures project legal documents are complete and signed.
• Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

Qualifications Required:

• BS in Engineering preferred
• 5+ years Linux Server and Windows Network Administration experience
• 2+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
• 2+ years of Windows/NT experience
• 3+ years of project management experience
• Strong history of successfully managing engineering development programs
• PMI training or certification is a plus
• Experience in semiconductor industry a big plus
• Red Hat Certification Engineering experience is preferred
• Solaris, SuSE and other Linux distributions experience is a plus
• Solid experience with multi-server environment / deployments
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers (networking and storage)
• Familiarity with databases and web programming languages and automation
• Disaster Recovery
